Objective: to determine the epidemiological profile of dengue in southern Brazil from 2017 to 2024, identifying possible factors associated with increased incidence. Method: an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study, with quantitative data analysis from SINAN (DATASUS). Results: a total of 1,761,408 cases were reported, with the highest number in 2024 (n=662,295). Incidence was higher among females (54.2%) and in the 20-39 and 40-59 age groups. DENV-1 predominated from 2022 to 2024, and DENV-2 in 2019-2020. The classic form, with positive evolution and low hospitalization (3%), was most observed. Conclusion: there was an increase in cases since 2020, with underreporting in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and a significant increase in 2024. Climatic changes and inefficiencies in vector control measures are relevant factors in dengue expansion.
