Profile of mobile emergency services attendance in Passo Fundo - RS

Objective: The objective of this study was to quantify and analyze the attendances made by SAMU-192 in the municipality of Passo Fundo, RS, during the year of 2018. Methods: This is a cross-section and descriptive study conducted from May 2019 to April 2020. The data were collected from the SAMU-192 call report, including age, sex, date and time of the call, reason for the call, primary examination (ABCDE), vital signs, origin and destination of the patient, district of occurrence and incidents. Descriptive statistics were performed with distribution of absolute and relative frequencies of the variables, aiming to characterize the attendance. Results: in 2018, SAMU-192 performed 2,177 calls in the municipality where the study was conducted, the average was 181 (± 21.8) occurrences per month. It was noticed a higher frequency of attendance in men (56%), adults (54.9%) and the average age of those attended was 49.8 years (± 31.9). As for the calls, 57.2% corresponded to clinical reasons and 42.8% to traumatic reasons, being neurological the main clinical demand, 243 (21.8%) and collision the main traumatic demand, 356 (42.9%). Conclusion: The results provided information for the health services and reaffirmed the importance of SAMU-192 for the population in general, as well as grounding the planning and organization of the service itself.
