Objective: to present the activities developed in a Regional Health Coordination in the Policy Department of comprehensive care to Women's Health, in the use of tools to monitor the effectiveness of the Cegonha Rede Program based on the analysis of basic health indicators. Method: reflective experience report motivated by the learning provided by the mandatory curricular internship of the undergraduate nursing course. Results and discussion: the use of indicators is a valuable tool in health management and assessment, and the nurse manager has ownership in command, given his understanding and skill in evaluating plans and goals. Final Considerations: the analysis of health data from the use of information systems is capable of promoting the planning and monitoring of services in a resolutive and effective way. Nursing has a fundamental role in the practice of shared management.
