Prevalências de infecções em um hospital de grande porte: Implicações na gestão hospitalar

The objective of the study was to describe and delineate the rates and prevalence of infections in a large hospital that serves medium and high complexity, identify the prevalent microorganism and define which approaches/strategies to control of infection. Method: this is a research of a quantitative, retrospective, cross-sectional and documental nature. The collection to place in the archives of a large hospital. Data analysis was of simple descriptive type. Results: the results refer infections by topography: Bloodstream infections; respiratory tract; skin and soft tissues. Conclusion: the interprofessional work of the teams in their different sectors of the hospital, has the purpose of qualifying the assistance, reducing, the length of stay, streamlining work processes, ensuring the effectiveness and safety of the patient, which contribute positively to the prevention of dissemination of pathogenic microorganism.
