Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status of the elderly in outpatient oncological treatment. Method: Cross-sectional study, carried out at a Hospital in Passo Fundo/Rio Grande do Sul, from June to September 2021. Nutritional status was assessed by Body Mass Index (BMI), calf circumference (WC) and Subjective Global Assessment Produced by the Patient Himself (ASG-PPP). Socio-demographic and clinical characteristics were collected from the medical records. Results: We evaluated 62 patients, 58.1% female, mean age 68.0±6.3 years. The prevalent cancers were gynecological/breast (33.9%) and 50% were under chemotherapy treatment. High frequency of nutritional deviations was observed by BMI (53.2%) and 43.5% had loss of muscle mass from CP. According to ASG-PPP, 50% were moderately malnourished or with suspected malnutrition. Final considerations: It was evidenced that these patients have low muscle mass, with malnutrition or suspected malnutrition, demonstrating the need for multidisciplinary monitoring for management of nutritional status.
