Laser therapy is an adjuvant in the treatment of skin lesions. Objective: investigate the use of laser therapy complementary treatment by nursing in the treatment of wounds. Method: it’s an integrative review in the Scientific Electronic Library Online, Virtual Health Library and Google Scholar databases, with an interval between 2014 to 2019. Results and discussion: nursing has researches related to the treatment of wounds. It’s the profession that works directly with healing, and must know the process and its phases, using resources that can optimize them. However, there is little evidence of the use of laser therapy by nurses in the treatment of wounds. There was a gap in the national scientific production; it can be considered that nursing care is more related to coverings and classic elements in wound care. Final considerations: it’s essential that scientific research by nursing researchers using laser therapy intervention in tissue healing is essential.
